Woven Woods brings together internal patterns of a wood trunk and the layered formations of the earth. Through repetition and subtle shifts, the work allows these two realms to intersect and mirror one another, inviting a slow, grounded connection. It reflects on the quiet intelligence of natural systems, where layers of time, movement, and growth are held together through interconnection. It mirrors how environments are shaped not by singular forces, but by unseen accumulated relations and systems.

About Jana Hakim

Jana Hakim is a Lebanese visual artist holding a BA and MA in Fine Arts and currently pursuing her PhD at the Lebanese University. She was born and raised in the mountains of Lebanon, an environment that shaped her way of noticing the world- its rhythms, small details, and the quiet connections between things. This sensitivity, alongside sustained academic and studio engagement from a young age, gradually formed a body of work that moves between surreal imagery and structured visual explorations of nature and our inner worlds.
At the core of her practice is an interest in the psychological, philosophical and existential dimensions of the human experience. Her work functions both as a form of self-expression and self-discovery, using visual language to question perception, identity, internal states, and the conditions of existence. Alongside her surreal works, she explores micro and macro patterns found in natural forms as symbols of unity and interconnectedness, drawing attention to relationships that exist across different scales and systems.
Through detailed, carefully constructed compositions, she invites viewers to slow down, look closely, and reflect on the subtle connections that shape both our inner and outer worlds. Her practice is multidisciplinary and experimental, extending beyond the studio. Alongside her personal work, she creates custom sculptural pieces and leads clay workshops.
