A whirling dervish moves between motion and stillness, surrounded by traces of Arabic calligraphy. While the body turns, there is a sense of calm within the movement - a moment of letting go and turning inward.
For me, this painting reflects the quiet changes we experience within ourselves, when we find ourselves between what we know and what we are becoming.
