From the perspective of Curator Dr. Pamela Chrabieh, Marina Kharma’s abstract acrylic artworks serve as a profound exploration of the complexities and fluidity of identity. Dr. Chrabieh sees Kharma's pieces as powerful visual narratives that delve into the multiple layers and facets of individual and collective identities. Through bold strokes, dynamic compositions, and intricate layering, Kharma reflects on how identities are formed, challenged, and reshaped over time.
Each artwork represents the struggle and the journey of self-discovery, capturing fleeting moments and emotional landscapes that define who we are. Kharma’s use of vibrant colors and textured elements symbolizes the ever-changing nature of identity—how it is influenced by internal emotions and external experiences. In Dr. Chrabieh's view, Kharma's art resonates with the "Urban Canvas" exhibition theme by illustrating the ongoing process of identity formation, emphasizing the resilience and adaptability inherent in the human spirit. Her works invite viewers to reflect on their own identities, how they have been shaped, and how they continue to evolve within the broader tapestry of life.
