The self-portrait in an antique mirror captures the continuity of familial identity amidst change. The reflection merges past and present within the same unchanged space, emphasizing the intertwining of personal and collective histories.

From the "Windows of Resilience" Series:

This photo series explores the idea of home as a stable anchor within the ever-changing urban landscape, using my grandmother's residence in Lebanon as a backdrop. Her home, a sanctuary of identity and memory, contrasts with the external turmoil, showing how personal spaces act as strongholds against the shifting urban environment. The series delves into the continuity of familial identity through generations and the resilience and grace that define my grandmother's home. The series captures spaces of daily rituals and intimate moments that anchor us to a sense of self, emphasizing the strength needed to maintain normalcy and dignity amidst societal upheaval.

A recurring motif in the series is the interplay of mirrors and windows. The reflections in antique mirrors capture the merging of past and present, illustrating the continuity of identity across generations. The sunsets seen through windows symbolize hope and renewal, providing a metaphor for life's cycles—despite hardships, there is always the promise of renewal. My grandmother's home, with its deep roots and enduring presence, serves as a microcosm of the resilience found within the city. This series invites viewers to reflect on how intimate environments help sustain identities and spirits, even in times of war and crisis, underscoring the resilience and continuity found within the sanctity of home.
