This painting depicts an old Lebanese house set within a lush garden (Baskinta, Lebanon), capturing the essence of rural life and cultural heritage. The traditional stone structure, with its arched windows and earthy tones, is surrounded by greenery and pastoral scenes, including a flock of sheep and a donkey grazing peacefully. The composition evokes a sense of nostalgia and tranquility, reflecting a simpler time when such homes were (and still are) common in the Lebanese countryside.

The artist’s attention to detail is evident in the textures of the stone walls and the vibrant greenery, which together create a harmonious blend of architecture and nature. The inclusion of livestock and the verdant landscape around the house emphasizes the connection between the home and its natural surroundings, highlighting the importance of agriculture and pastoral life in Lebanon’s history. This piece is a celebration of Lebanese rural heritage, offering a window into the past while also evoking a timeless sense of peace and stability.

Production year: 2002.

Unique prints (same dimensions as the original artwork) with a personalized touch by the artist, including additional painting on the print, can be commissioned.
