In "Mask Connection," Darine Semaan portrays a vision of people navigating the streets equipped with advanced breathing technology. The artwork captures the essence of a world where technology has become necessary for survival, reflecting on how our interactions and connections have been reshaped in this new reality.
According to Dr. Pamela Chrabieh, curator of the Urban Canvas exhibition, this piece resonates deeply with the exhibition’s theme by exploring the intersection of technology, urban life, and human identity. As cities evolve and adapt to global challenges, such as pandemics and environmental crises, the very fabric of human interaction transforms, becoming a blend of the organic and the mechanical. "Mask Connection" invites viewers to contemplate the implications of these changes, urging us to consider the cost of our technological advancements and the potential loss of our innate human connections in an increasingly mechanized world.
