These artworks, part of the series "Eternal Recurrence" by Gaia Maria Noujeim, invite viewers to contemplate the systems that govern and structure our lives. The repetitive patterns within each piece embody the monotonous cycles that often define these systems, suggesting a weariness born from their perceived futility. However, the series also encourages reflection, proposing that through critical thought, the absurdity of such repetition can be transcended, potentially leading to a transformation of these systems.

According to the Urban Canvas exhibition's curator, Dr. Pamela Chrabieh, these artworks—entitled "Windows," "Fences," "Beds," "Aqueducts," "Billboards," "Cubicles", and "Row Crops"—serve as a poignant commentary on the urban environment. They highlight how urban spaces are shaped by repetitive, often oppressive systems, yet they also offer a glimpse of hope: through awareness and reflection, change becomes possible.

As with Arte Povera, the unmounted display of these works is intentional, emphasizing their raw, unrefined nature. This choice connects them to a broader tradition of challenging the conventions of art and society - arte povera. However, if preferred, the artwork can be mounted on a frame upon request - fees: 50$.

"Aqueducts" production year: 2021.
