Painting, Purpose, and Preservation: Fairylistiic x Kulturnest

Painting, Purpose, and Preservation: Fairylistiic x Kulturnest

Last Friday, Kulturnest was filled with colour, creativity, and conversation as we welcomed young artist Tia Kaedbey, founder of FAIRYLISTIIC, for a unique and uplifting workshop on CD painting and upcycled art. The session brought together a vibrant youth group, eager to explore a form of art that is both expressive and environmentally conscious.

Using old, discarded CDs as their canvas, participants learned how to transform everyday waste into beautiful, meaningful pieces of art. Tia guided them through the process with care and passion, sharing her belief that art can and should play a role in healing people and the planet.

In a country like Lebanon, where environmental challenges are pressing and resources limited, upcycled art offers more than an outlet for creativity. It’s a powerful reminder that even what we consider trash can become something valuable. It teaches mindfulness, resourcefulness, and the importance of protecting the world around us.

At Kulturnest, we are proud to host workshops that inspire not only artistic growth but also awareness and community. Seeing these young women create, connect, and reflect on their impact was deeply moving; a sign that change often begins in the most unexpected places: a paint-splattered table, a quiet moment of focus, a circle of shared ideas.

Thank you, Tia, for bringing your magic. And thank you to all who joined us for a day of art with a purpose. We can’t wait to do it again.
