Culture Is Among the First to Fall Silent in Wartime

War silences many things. Culture is often among the first.

In Lebanon, the arts sector has already endured years of economic collapse, instability, war, and uncertainty. Today, as violence escalates once again, artists and cultural spaces find themselves facing yet another moment of profound fragility.

At Kulturnest, our community includes more than 250 artists - painters, photographers, designers, writers, and creators whose work carries the stories, memories, and imagination of this place. For many of them, art is not only an expression. It is also a livelihood, a source of resilience or sumud, and a way to remain human in times that often feel designed to erode humanity.

As long as it remains possible to do so, we continue to share their work.

If you are outside Lebanon, you can explore the artists’ work HERE.

If you are in Lebanon, please follow our channels on Google, Instagram, and Facebook for updates regarding the opening days and hours of the space.

Supporting artists - by discovering their work, sharing it, or collecting it - is also a way of refusing silence.

In solidarity.
